I have changed everything on my 200 IL-6, Points, cap, rotor, plugs, wires and Condensor.

Problem: Runs Extremly rough, as if only hitting on 4 cyls. Untill I pull all six plug wires and Barely sit them back on the plug. Then it will run smooth....

Any Ideas?

Barely sit them back on the plug
this is a trick used for unfouling plugs it causes an extra hot spark which will often clear up a fouled plug. recheck everything such as plug gap-point gap/dwell and make sure you don't have your condenser hooked up incorrectly. If condenser is hooked up right after checking these things i would try reinstalling old condenser. Condenser is most suspect if everything else is normal--bad new condensers are not unheard of. also make sure dizzy cap is seated all the way.
Was it running decent before tune-up???

Did you re-check (set) the timming...
If you change the points it well change the timming.. so that must be reset each time you change the point gap or change the points..
Reason::
when you change the point gap it changes the point in time in which the points open and close in turn that well effect at what time you need the plug to spark..
hopes this helps

It started to run bad before the change.

After I installed everything new, timing was reset, carb adjusted, point gap and dwell set. Found the New Dist cap was bad, (No fire from #5) so I bought a second New cap. Cap is on solid, no vacume leaks, and added an oil change. I can pull the Coil wire 1/2" from the coil and get a solid blue spark, not orange. So I assume the coil is still good. The old condensor was still good, so is the new one, (I replace everything if I change points), I did however go with the stock plug gap, (I will recheck and widen. Did'nt think about gap.)

NOTE: When pulling coil wire off while the engine is running.... BE SURE NOT to Ground yourself... IT HURTS! LOL

It's just weird, how it will run better with the plug wires not seated on the Plugs, barely hanging on, than with the wires seated all the way. I have never had that happen before.

I Recently installed new plugs in my Falcon, 5 of the six were within .05 of each other about .040 and 1 was about .075. Plugs are not really gapped at packing and shipping will often knock them closed. Always gap new plugs before installing-- i like those little round type tools they sell at the checkout counter of parts store that go on your key ring.

Like I said this gives a very hot spark that will clear up a fouled plug caused by things like a flooding carb or clogged air cleaner. Over any length of time however it will really heat up a piston crown. Make sure you're gapped correctly and check that your choke isn't stuck of some other condition causing an excessive rich fuel mix.

Bought a new Coil this afternoon... No change, gaped the plugs to .050, runs a lil smoother but still coughs and gags under ANY load.
'Bout to dive me NUTZ!

Just grabbing at pluges here but did you pull the dizzy when you did the points could it be 180 out?? They well run 180 out..
I think I would start there and work my way to the carb..
1) verify TDC of compression stroke (NOT exhaust stroke)
2) verify TDC #1 plug wire by rotor direction.
3) verify #1 pllug wire... to plug
4) spin motor to make sure of rotation
5) check fireing order..
6) go to carb, hoses & all gaskets for vacuum leaks.
It sure sounds like timming to me now.. sence your tune up... Or the motor sliped timming..

I guess the obvious thing is, if your car soothes out if you don’t firmly attach the spark plug wires, maybe you got a broken wire.

UREKA !!!! my neighbor, (who is a Pro-Mechanic) came over last night... I told him the situation and he immediatly came up with the Answer....

Change out your Brand New plugs.... Go with the Autolites instead of the NGK, I guarantee it to work! He said there was a difference in the Resistance between the Brands, Cheapo Walmart Autolites vs. NGK Platinums...

Sho Nuff! Changed them out this afternoon and Fired up the first turn!! Ran smoth as a babys butt! I will go back and readjust the timing, as I have it too far advanced, but She still Roasted the tire!! WAHOO!!

I want to thank everyone for the Tips! And keep this one for yourself in case it happens to you....
