I'm getting ready to Install a " Cane Cams XR-700-0231 Points-to-Electronic Ignition Conversion Kit for Universal 4-6-8 Cylinder Engines"
I would just like to confirm, but I believe, unless previously modified and under normal circumstances, that the '64 Comet, 200 Engine, Auto. Trans., uses a primary resistance wire between the igniton switch and positive (+) on the ignition coil... and that when replacing the coil, I should use a coil of the non-internal-resistor type... and if the coil I purchase comes with an external ceramic ballast resistor, I should not use it when replacing the coil.
Can anybody confirm this and/or provide any tips for doing this conversion?
