I'm a moron.

unfortunately all we've done is break in the cam, 25 minutes of run time at 2K rpm. that's how we ended up with this mustang, the barracuda has been in process for almost 4 years and my son needed a daily driver so we bought this 66 mustang from a non-mechanical friend of his. it's been a lot of fun and my first ford ever, i grew up on 57 and 64 chevy's. put a DUI distributor on 2 weeks ago, an 1101 pony carb 3 months ago, 2" exhaust, new carpeting, all new suspension, 16:1 FR steering box etc. only about 100 hours left to finish the barracuda but this mustang has been more fun and easier.

Late one Feb night I was trying to start my Daytona. It was real cold and I was just exhausted, but I need to start the car to charge the battery to go to work the next day. Well at night, under the hood of a car its real dark and SOMETIMES with jumper cables red goes to black, and black goes to red  .... melted the cable insulation real fast, the smoke stunk but didn't spark that much  !

i crossed the cables when my brother was trying to start our van with his camaro. fried the radio, interior lights and a couple fuses. luckily nothing important got killed, like the headlights or windshield wipers. we sold that van.
