Intercoolers

yes.

alot of it depends on how much air you are trying to cool, where it is placed...lots of factors.

I am going to run a saab 900 unit mounted behind my front grill. I already picked it up and have test fitted the space.

use what fits and is cheap

Neither.
On a wet flow (i.e. draw-thru) system, it's an explosion looking for a place to happen. On a dry flow (i.e. blow-thru) it significantly increases turbo performance by giving you a cooler, denser intake charge. If it's not done properly though a intercooler can increase turbo lag.

what setup are you going for?

as mentioned you need to have a dry intake charge to intercool.

as long as you lay out the piping cleanly (bends and not miter joints) and keep it short as you can you should be ok

The plan is a carb blow through.......a "dry" system. Mounting the carb before the turbo is NOT in the plan at all. Just curious if we pick up a use done what might work best is all.

Like I said I am going to run a saab 900 IC. small and cheap. I won't have it up and running for a bit though. Hoping to find a cheap carb at a swap meet tomorrow to start working with. also looking around for a cheap BOV...leaning towards a bosch or dsm unit.

8) My Sons and I are headed to the U - Pull - It for a windsheild for my Daughter's Escort. We'll be checking out the import crap for an intercooler.
