All Small Six Is the 1967 inline 6 mustang bell housing 5 bolt or 6 bolt ?

This relates to all small sixes
Hi, I am not a bolt counter, but I do know the 3 speed uses the large bell housing and the C4 uses the small bell housing. Good luck

4 bolts for a C4 automatic transmission bell housing to a 200 6 cyl engine
3 smaller bolts hold bottom tin inspection cover on bell housing
3 bolts for starter to bell housing--2 large bolts & 1 smaller bolt
Smaller starter bolt also goes thru bell housing & holds transmission dipstick tube bracket on the other side (backside) with a nut on that bolt
7 bolts hold transmission bell housing to transmission pump assembly (same number as a V8 one)

I always use a V8 C4 transmission because it has more clutches & steels & will handle more power
Just swap to the small 6 cyl bell housing

here's '76 Mav/Comet 200 with C4 using same small BH pattern used in 1960'.
.
.after @ '66, standard tranny was the 'Toploader' 3/4 spd and required bigger bellhouse 'large pattern' and all 200 block's thru @ 1979 were 'Dual Drilled' for either size BH (auto/stick).
.
'Toploader' stick 136T FW bellhouse bolts to top of block where meets head.
.
.
BTW 250 is @ 1-1/2 wider than 200 and can't use any 200 BH/Clutch/TC etc. . 250 uses same BH , Clutch, TC, Starter, etc as SBF V8 with a 157T V8 FW (neutral balance).
.
have fun
.
( inside a C4 ? )
