It's so sweet to hear it fire to life, sounds good with a Clifford dual out to Y single with no muffler until the new timing chain snaps in two!! :x :x , it sounded like something hitting the cover, cranked it over and nothing so I took the cap off, cranked it again and the rotor was'nt turning, while taking the cover off I was hoping it was just the chain and sure enough it was, brand new less than five minutes on it SNAP!.
I think I went the cheap route and got it from J.C. Witney, it's been over a year.
There was'nt any noise prior to, ran great does anyone have any other ideas why it snapped??

Ummm... Because it was weak?

Your dizzy or oil pump may have presented an unexpected load to the timing set. I'd be inspecting them for sure.

Upon futher inspection, it is belived to have been the cam plate that broke then put the cam gear in a bind to snap the chain, can't belive it, I didn't see any cracks it it, :? I scavenged a cam plate off of a 200 in my garage that is just taking up space and it fits.

8) sounds like a similar problem azcoupe had last year. the cam retainer bolts came loose and jamed against the timing gear shattering it. i dont recall anyother damage though.
