After over two years of getting ready to put a 200 into my '63 Ranchero I did it with the help of fellow So.Cal.Falcon member Steve Roulli and my 16 year old gear head son over the weekend and finished up today.
I feared problems and didn't use the T-5, DSII and header to start with.
The Stovebolt Holley/Webber adapter had to be massaged a bit to fit, but fired up and runs GREAT with no adjustments. The stock linkage fit with only a minor adjustment.
The only problem I did have is a clutch chatter and TO bearing noise just as it was before the swap. Problem is the flywheel was turned and the rest is all new.
Specs on the engine are:
200 cu. .030 over bore.
.040 off block
Isky 262 cam. Smooth Idle. Thought there would be a little lope.
.040 off head, Ported, bowls blended Valves unshrouded. Biggest valves Ford offered and V8 springs.
Stovebolt 5200 carb.
Gotta change the 2.7 rear gears. I have 3.0 and 3.25. Have stock distributor now, but will change to '79 Mustang DSII soon. Just wanted to get it started and I knew the stock dissy would work without a problem.
I'm just jazzed it is finaly running again.
