In reading some of the ideas as far as EFI for our engines, I was wondering if anyone has or had ever tried using the computer for the Jeep Cherokee's 4.0 I-6 for running the Ford I-6?
Just curious.
the Jeep EFI system would require alot of machine work to include most of the Jeep sensors. The really hard ones would be the crank position sensor and the sensor in the distributor. Jeep EFI systems are highly redundant in that if as few as three of the 20 or so sensors are still working the engine will run. Jeep designed it so that the computer has baseline figures on all the sensors. Example: If this sensor is reading this then this other one should be this. I thought about it very seriously but decided it would be difficult and expensive to have a custom dizzy made.
