Heya fella's
I have a XE 250 xflow, with a 2brl 350 Holley, extractors, mild cam, 2.1/2 inch exhaust, elect dizy upgrade.
I have just recently pulled the Holley apart to give it a good clean and basic rebuild, but i would like to try some different Jets, it has #60 Jets in it allready with a 6.5 power valve.
What Jet sizes are you guys using?, I know it is best to try many to get the best results, but at $18 a pair i would like an idea of what you guys find best, then work around that!
The car does run ok on the #60 Jets, but a bit more power would be good!

18 bucks a pair holy shister!
You'd be better off getting a jet kit theres like 40 or more jets in it and its only $70
Try VPW in Victoria

Get the Jet kit? No, the adjusta-jet set-up has been detailed on the 144-250 forum. It goes from about 60 to 80 is infinite steps. Just twist the metering screw and tune on the dyno. Much easier than having some time fiddling around with pulse lengths on a computer.

Why buy jets?

Try this. http://fordsix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8106

The discharge of the jets and power valve is very easy to determine in the same way injectors are sized. Two 60 jets are in fact 285 cc/min each, or 570 cc/min, and augmented by a power valve which is equal to another 8 jet sizes each. Rather than calculate it too much, you just look at the table in the link, and the hp is the total flow in cc/mun from two jets, divided by 3.7, or 155 hp potentially. Simple! Funny thing is a set of 56's on a Cortina with a 350 gives about 129 hp at the flywheel. The 350 Holley is too small for more than 155 hp.

So a set of 60's is about it. Most Americans with 3.3's and 2V's are using 62's, most 202 Holdens go into 63-65, with 6.5 power valves. The carb is the restrictor now. Go for a PN 4412, #2300 500 Holley with 69s will give about 155 hp with a much nicer, less restricted feel. Going bigger on a 350 won't help, in my opinion.

Thanks mate, i'll leave the #60 jets in it for now. I have put it back on the engine already and it is running much better, the clean-up did it alot of good, it was pretty dirty inside!
But even with the holley book, i can't seem to set up the idle mixture and idle speed right, like it runs well, but i think it should be better. I will take it in to get dyno tuned i reckon.
The Holley 500 with 155hp sounds good!, maybe a change i'll take in the future!

Thanks for your help.
