l3n's falcon lives!

Thanks LaGrasta, she's a long way from yours (for now!) but I'm happy with the way things are progressing. This is my first attempt at doing the car thing, it's been a big learning experience, and a lot of fun so far.

Mike, this weekend is perfect for me if you've got the time, I think I have the timing pretty well set, but a second opinion (and a timing light) couldn't hurt. I'm working on tweaking the carb too. Might widen the gaps out to 50, since she's handling 45 like a champ.

If you guys want to come out, the beer (and bourbon) are on me!

Thanks for the invite, but Sunday is the Super Bowl after church and Saturday, i don't even get to work on my own car. I'll be helping my 6 year old build his first Pinewood Derby car for Cub Scouts. My plan is a belly tanker design!
MIke, you're still welcome to join us at church if you like.

GG - That's a really clean ride, but I'm in love with my convertible. As a former Alaska boy, let me tell you, there's nothing better than driving to the beach with the top down.

Mike, if you want to swing by on Saturday, I'll be around. We'll drag LaGrasta out next time. By the way, LaGrasta, who did your paint job?

my paint was done by South County Auto Body. The numerous amount of body-mods were done by both me, some friends and Black Widow Kustoms.
Can you guys get together on a Tuesday or Thursday after work? Maybe dinner? I work in Anaheim so I'm closer to both of you and my famliy is at various functions both those days so I'm free.

I ended up havin' a laaaaate night last night. I'll give you a call tomorrow and sometime this week we'll have a ball. =P How's she coming?

No worries man, I've just been tinkering away. I spent most of today cleaning up the fuel system - I think I finally got that leak plugged, and I'm pretty sure I had a vacuum leak that's hopefully been patched now too. Pulling the carb gave me the chance to go over it again, so that was probably a good thing to do either way. I'm going to spend a little time on the DUI wiring tomorrow (or today I guess) so I can clean that up too. All in all, I'm making steady progress.

I'm just happy to have her alive and kicking again. When it's your first time, you're never 100% sure that you didn't screw something up. Hell, I probably did screw up a few times (I know my wiring isn't perfect), but she's up and running, so I'm happy.

Thanks for the tip LaGrasta, I'll look those guys up when it's time for me to start on the paint and body. Your falcon is a great piece of advertising for their work.

I work nights, so weekdays are probably out for me, but maybe we'll figure something out one of these days...

 Actually, there IS something better that driving to the beach with the top down.

Snuggling up makes it hard to shift.

That is one clean little falcon! What tires are those? I was looking for some for my mustang, but they were all uber expensive.
