'Never have seen a 80's - Fox body 'Stang in this area with an OEM inline six. I was wondering if the readily available - often engine trashed - later 80's Mustang use same/similar engine mounts and could be tucked into a typical late 80's 'Stang?. What components would need attention such as cooling, clutch, shifter etc...

Thanks

I seen a few I think the only thing you will need to bolt in with factory parts is the straight six K member or cross member and a rear sump pan and pickup tube or make up your own mounts

The K-member looks alot like this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y105/A ... hL6Kme.jpg

That is a 81 inline six K-member swapped into a 85 Mustang.

The Classic Mustangs used a front sump pan and the Foxes used a rear sump pan.

The Fox apparently can use Maverick motor mounts as that was what I was told to use if I wanted to lower motor a wee bit.

The Fox inline six K-member is unique due to the different motor mounts. The bellhousing is different for manual and auto due to the inline six's unique block to bellhousing pattern.

Everything else is the same as a 4cyl Fox Mustang, including the 9in disc brake setup. Those of you who have complained of the stock aero nose 4cyl Foxes with 10" brakes havent experienced anything yet.
