I have a 200cid that I really don't know a whole lot about. I just got the car last week, problem is that I'm seeing light white smoke coming out of the tailpipe when the car gets up to around 40 or so? Also there is white smoke that comes out of the hose that connects to the breather on the valve cover...any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

White smoke is usualy a sign of water or condinsation in the motor... If it has set for a long time it might not be anything.. and may go away. Watch your water consumption.. and temp. If your losing water with no sign of a leak could be a head gasket.
It could be anything from a cracked head to a head gasket..
I would change the oil if it looks like chocolet milk theres water in the oil. and again it could be just from sitting for a long time. Change the oil and watch it.
hope this helps

ANother possibility is water in your fuel tank, once again, very common if the car has been sitting awhile.

A little white smoke from the breather cap is normal, it's really just condensation and some fumes.
