Hi

if I were to go ahead and purchase all the Lokar stuff to swap over from my throttle rod to cable,what would I need on a 200 swapping over to the Holley 5200?
Universal cable
Pedal Assembly
throttle bracket
return springs

I may not go this way because it seems pricey but would I need all of this.

I would say that depends on how much you are willing to fabricate/modify or if you want to buy everything from Lokar. My car had a cable throttle from a Maverick installed but I had to drill some holes and shorten the cable to get it to fit right. I would think one could use some of the Maverick parts (like the pedal) on the HW but some fabrication of brackets and the like might be required.

Lokar is nice stuff but kind of pricy. If you want the look but a lot cheaper check out "like Lokar" on ebay. That is what I am running on my weber 38/38. The only bracket I needed to fab up was on the carb base and it was easy. I got the pedal to and it was a bit harder to mount- it bolts to the floor pan and swivels from the bottom of the pedal.

I'm planning for a 5200 holley install on my 66 mustang. Have read a few strings on installing a throttle cable assembly. my 66 stang six has the stock throttle rod on the stock autolite carb. Do I understand that I will need to replace the pedal/rod assembly as well? Wanted to revive this thread to get advice on installing a cable throttle assembly on the 66 stang, particularly. thanks.

Just installed my 5200 with the throttle rod and got the throttle wide open.I cut my throttle rod and had the angle changed at the turn toward the carb.Turned it upwards and had it welded back together.I drilled a hole in the throttle linkage right below the pivot so that my connecting rod was pulling straight back when the rod is connected to my stock rod that I just turned up.Its not running yet but looks like it will work fine.I took most of this from Jaymers so you can get ideas from his posts.

I went with a Lokar cable and cable pedal assy. As for the carb bracket, I made one out of metal that mounts to the back of the carb. If you want I can email you some pics and a diagram of the bracket I made.
