Low profile air cleaner on a 250

I like the leaf spring bushing, keeping that. I haven't decided if I like the bushing tube as part of the engine side or the frame bracket side.

This is probably splitting hairs.. But,
Looking at the brackets, if he had put 2 holes in the frame mount side then it would have only been a single bolt to remove to raise or lower the motor.

It is stick with only allowing adjustments on the frame side of the bracket and I punch another set of 2 holes out toward the shock tower about .5" (on center) they would now also accommodate a 250 swap where a 200 had been.

I would definitely move the bushing side onto the frame mount half. Getting the bolts in on the other side is a bit of a PITA

The air cleaner I have is the same design but even lower. The 'arm' is different (mine - thiner but wider & more modern in presentation) but the canister (holds the element) looks pretty similar. Third - it sits over on the other side of the valve cover. Interesting...

"...be danged if O'Reily's or Napa will give me any part number..."
as I wrote earlier it's in a book (none of em use the books, only 'puters). If needed I can get that @ my wrk. Lemmie know. Think I saw it in A Book! To slot will give 1/8 - 1/4 inch I believe, not much, eh?
Gettin them from those guys (WH, Tom's Broncos, etc) would be more expensive (like ordering an I6 part from a stang vendor).

Alright, thanks so much for sharin. Might work but...Gotta get an inch or two if I can...let's C wid da RBS. No scoup for this one - the windshield hasta lay down for some of the logs I snake out. Also use the low back seats for the same reason. & got a tilt wheel from a '78. Some day a toneau will be made to cover & I'll unzip @ the drivers door to get in. All straight across, just like a hot tub...

Found another one you might want to look for..
Ford Cars with 223's used a low profile air cleaner that held the air filter off to the side (vertical, not horizontal)

Hey Ron,
Wow, that's as low as mine but not as pretty. I C now from the typed out link it's from an Edsel. So the body style wuz not the only odd thing on them....
I can't put a pic on my desk top & load it up directly to the site can I (hafta read the directions again - seemed like I need a wed based intermediary)?

imgur.com is one of the easiest sites I've found to upload pics. You click on the picture and drag it to the website and that's it. Just register and you get something like 225 pictures no matter what size.

I need easy (esp from there to here). Just have their site open & drag (it offa my desk top) onto some icon on the site's open page. Howbout from the imgur site to here, same? Have (for instance) this page open & drag from imgur's open page an icon to ( * ) right there or sompin?

I'll go out'n snap a pic now...

Nope, can't drag from there to here, but if you click the picture after it has uploaded it will give you a window with a bunch of options in it, if your picture is within the size limits here you can choose the text under BBCode and copy and paste, if you have a real big picture then just copy the one that says Direct Link and paste it here.

So, I went out and searched ebay for early broncos (still hope to have one some day) but I was looking for pictures of the air cleaners and the engine bays to take a look at the motor mounts. I found 2 EBs with sixes. The factory ones really are low profile, but slightly different than the one I posted.

This last one is a good shot that shows both, it really is a good photo, it shows what is normally bolt on frame mounts for a unibody are actually part of the frame on a EB. To me these look like standard old motor mounts like I have on the 1967 200/C4 sitting on my shop floor. But be danged if O'Reily's or Napa will give me any part number.

so... it looks like for a Bronco you should be OK using the stock mounts, and slotting the mounts by grinding on the bottom of the bolt holes. I've got one more idea, but it will be easier to build then to try and explain.. so give me a couple days.

Separate from that, the extreme motor mount pictured above has my thinker working...

OK, a lill more on ASA & Ron's posts re: the motor mounts:

Anchor Industries (catelogue 2004)
PART # 2225 (right) 2226 (left)

Motor Year Model
144 '62 (7/4/62) - '65 Falcon
170 Fairlaine '63/4; & Falcon 7/5/62 - 65
200 '64 -'70 Mustang
200 '63 -70 Falcon

is what I call (that simple) L shaped one pictured (66 'stang 200). I think it's what people call the Maverick mount?

Here's hopin the formatting came out. Kite me a post (chrlsful@aol.com) if U wanna.

no, poor formatting
:-(

Interesting on the Bronk air cleaner housings. On those 6cyl, the housing sits on the driver's/distrib side. Mine is on the exh man Passenger's side. Again some 1 put my 170 in pre '83 when I bought it (has L & R dipsticks, etc).

OK, coupla different way to get this photo in here.

1)
http://www5.snapfish.com/snapfish/fe/l= ... s%22%7D%7D

it's up on snapfish, a HP photo/vid site (2 pic actually. A top & a bottom view) They are each 2000KB pic so should not go directly on here (took me 1/2 hr to up-load due to my dial-up status). But that makes em nice and detailed.

2)
http://www5.snapfish.com/snapfish/share ... /otsi=SAER

I'd trust the 2nd a lill more.
Now onto try em my self. EDIT Yeah the 2nd, U just click on & it goes to the pic (may B both!).

Let me know if you can ID the air cleaner (yr/model).
