m-90 supercharger on 200 six

I have purchased a new m-90 supercharger for my sons 200 six in his 64 falcon. I need to know if anyone has done this before and where I can get the pulley set up for a ford six to run it. The motor is stock + header any help would be great.

bertfam,
It may be much cheaper to run a double v-belt pully than the stock pully on the M-90, I was quoted $420.00 for a ribbed crank/blancer pully for my 200 L6. You can try and look around to see if someone is now making such a setup but 3-4 years ago there was not a source except custon made that I was aware of. If properly lined up and assuming your running under 10 PSI the standard v-belts have worked for me, my setup has never thrown one in the past four years and I drive it to work everyday! Goodluck, and post pictures of the project.

what kind of number can be expected from a set up like this? Or on a 300?

I always wanted to do this to the 4 liter in my old Ranger

Theory is, if you double the air going in, you double the HP coming out, so at 14psi, a 100% bump in power.

Nothing comes free, however, so in reality the gains are considerably less. There will be losses. Pumping losses, heat losses, etc. Double the air in, 70% gain? maybe, depending on how efficient the original engine is.

The other thing is, to get 14psi into an engine is probably going to require a lot of mods, at least if you want to repeat that performance more than once without lots of expensive noise. Lubrication, balance, materials, parts, heat removal, etc. all have to be improved to handle the additional loading.

I ran an M-90 on my Mustang for a short time. I use a doubel v pulley on the M-90 my machine shop made for me. It was the much cheaper alternative.

It ran like a scalded assed ape until I missed third over revving it and threw a rod. All my fault I should've used a rev limiter. I didn't even rebuild the engine prior to installing it.

I used one from a Thunderbird V6 with intercooler set up. It was a lot of work to get everything right and I'm lucky to be a mechanical engineer with access to a machine shop. Went with a blow thru set-up, carb was reworked the same as if you are doing a turbo blow-thru.

This is a nice set-up with lots of power for someone with the time to work out the mounting. I think the set up with the Paxton is very nice too and maybe easier to work, however the M-90's are plentiful and fairly cheap on e-bay.

Oh, I know, I actually crew for a blower car. only it takes about 300hp to turn that one at full tilt.

My question was more directed towards what would that make as far as torque on a 200 I6 at 7-9psi?

Edit: and even pullying the wee out of an M90 and adding a raised blower roof....at anything over 10psi an M90 becomes a breat way to heat air going into the engine.

Over that, you can get away with running the stock after cooler from a Lightning and the M112, but they aren't giving those away yet...
