What c'hall think of the Mallory Unilite?
Who is running one and in what configuration (Mechanical/Vacuum advance) ?
What are the dis/avantages of both?
Are you using a spark box?
What are the advantages of running with/out a spark box (Duraspark or proprietary)?

Your opinions are greatly appreciated.

I think I can help a bit.

I ran the Unilite with no can and I believe it was electronic : I ran a Jacobs "old school" mulitspark unit (can't remember the name) and it worked perfect except for the time it blew the module. But here's what I noticed aside from that.

The shaft that connects to the oil pump began to show wear on one side. It began to eat away at the shaft of the Unilite. Not cool. Especially when yer trying to keep yer timing where it should be.

Now, to protect your costly ignition system/module, you will HAVE TO INSTALL a "Mallory Active Power Filter." It's super easy to install. Also, somde deal called a resistor (I think)? Not sure what's it's called so I'm going to school on this one. I know it's made of some kind of /Ceramic/clay material??

Go with your Factoy unit instead if at all possible. From what I have been told that is enough for street use. And the HEI in me six seems to fire the load ok.

Ctown...
