Manual choke

Has any one installed a manual choke the a Holley 1946 carb? The electric one on my '83 200 seems to have burnt out and the replacement parts are about $50. I was thinking of installing a universal manual choke, but I want to see if its been done before and how you'd do it, thanks.

It should install the same way all manual choke conversions do. Shouldn't be any difference.

beware of teh hand choke kits sold at carquest and some other parts stores (not sure which). many of these are poorly built such that they cannot be installed on teh dashboard end of it: the mounting nut on the cable's housing cannot be removed beyond where hte cable's housing mates to the hard end piece, thus making it impossible to mount properly. i know that the brand "help" is one which has this problem.
whatever brand/store you use, take it out of teh package and make sure its useable
