ok i was a bit board yesterday ! i thought what if...? a I6 turbo in a maverick! ok yeah you seen that cool falcon with a turbo...but a maverick we're talking here... btw Does10's way cool set up.. i saw your car at knotts.

so what you all think? looks like it will fit! thats because it does fit! i just love all the room! and speaking of room with the big huge ass ugly 75 crach bumpers you can fit a subaru aftermarket front mount intercooler right in there!

again... i was just board and thinking... what if!

You know, the Maverick and the early Mustang are about the same width. I wonder how a 65-66 R-model valance would look on a Mav?

Maverick Man,
Give it a try dude! A Mav. has way more room up front for an IC. You know it can be done! That carb you've got on there probably won't work under boost though. Mod the head to handle a Holley 2300 350cfm. What size turbo is that? 64mm? or maybe even a 76mm? If it's a 76mm that's WAY to big for a 250. Also if it's a 76 I'll trade ya for a 64 and some cash! I need a bigger turbo for my '86 Mustang. 10.7s isn't fast enough!
Believe it or not that is NOT a alot of room in there after all the piping goes in. It fills up fast!
Good luck to ya! You'll love it when you're done!

Actually,Mav's & turbo's are nothing new(it's true!)back in 1972,Car-Craft had an artical on a pair of cars: - - -A new '72 Mav & a Plymouth Duster. Both were built by different firms(the Duster was built by Schwitzer Co. & the Ford was built by Ak Miller....)The Duster ran on plain gas for fuel, while the Mav ran on Propane. The Mav had a full array of factory equipment:----A/C,Power brakes,Power Steering, ect, ect, and STILL had room for the Turbo(an Air-Reaserch unit...). In the end, although geared 'high' the Mav zipped to a 93 mph trap speed in 1/2 mile testing. I wish I wasn't so internet challenged,,otherwize,I would've posted it here. I'm sure someone else out there in Inline world has a copy. It's the June '72 Car-Craft issue with the Red Corvair on the cover. OO6./The-X-Or-Six!

Steven, did you mean 93 mph in the 1/4? I think our Windstar minivan could get up to better than 93 in the 1/2 mile.

I had an old holden with a 208ci 6 and triple 48mm webbers best I managed down the 1/4 was a 12.6 @ 108mph

So I figure that a blown 250ci should be able to break 10's :?:

G260, turbo cars are faster in the southern hemisphere because the Coriolis Effect works with the compressor, rather than against it.
