As far as the coil goes, be careful what you get some are worse than stock, I am running a MSD Blaster....... a squrare firewall type of some kind, I can get you the name, just because I wanted to run all MSD stuff, but in all honesty the stock Ford MSD coils are cheap and very reliable and you won't notice a performance differance.
THe coils that I have had trouble with where Accels, the last one was great till I replaced it with the MSD, but I had 2 that overheated regulary (you could feel the oil boiling and yes I had a balast resister on them) and one just got an internal short and even though they where warrentied I can not recommend them.
