Mechanical 500 holley??

Hey guys.
Ive just bought an ex speedway alloyhead crossflow with rollers, solid cam double springs, ported, custom crank and the std manifold totally gutted to flow with a 500 holley welded ontop. As i have a std 500 at home i know this is unique as the throttle body is mechanical (primary/secondary) and the cable attachment is at the back not the outside when setup. The butterflys themselves are larger too. Anyone seen one of these before??

Whats my best bet with running it on 98 RON as it was setup for avgas with 200hp @wheels? Im thinking water injection.

For now im going to get the manifold and carb on my engine. I'll update on how its going.

I was also looking at a speedway motor, but I was told that due to the extremely light crankshaft, they are unbearable for the street, and not torquey at all.. I'd be a bit worried about howmuch compression its running - obviously it must've been high because it was a speedway car running on AVGAS so you might have problems running 98 octane stuff.

Any chance you could post a pic of that manifold?

Are you saying that someone took the stock 1V carby manifold and adapted it to fit a 500? How would this compare to an aftermarket intake like a redline? Sorry if I sound stupid but I am a crossflow newbie.

Its been totally gutted out and welded with an adapter. I will take some pics.

Yes its standard from an alloy head crossflow.

The compression is about 11.5:1.......98 and water injection, otherwise decompresion plate, but this might take the comp too low.
