Mega squirt EFI

Ok, so i am planning out the engine build on the wife's 66 stang. It will probably take a while to get everything together (and pay for it). my goal is to get the car running 200+hp naturally aspirated. I also want to retain as much efficiency as possible. So heres where i am at. When ever the new alu cyl heads are done I am planning on picking one of those up. And i want to set it up to run multi point EFI. I see that people seem to like the mega squirt set up, so I am wondering, how easy is it to set up one of these systems? I would probably pick up the prebuilt one to save head aches. I am not that experienced with tuning engines (although i do have some folks that can help). Is it worth it to run the efi or should i just go with a nice 4 barrel and call it good? any thoughts or suggestions on this? I am still at minimum 9mo out on getting all the bits to do this so i just want to make sure that if i do go the efi route, that i do it right as it will be going in my wife's car.

I would first come up with an HONEST and REALISTIC budget you want to spend on the car.

(Then multiply it times two because there will be belts and hoses and seals and paint and such that always make that higher....)

Build around that budget. Too many people try for too much too fast and then give up or lose interest before its complete.

How often will the car be driven?

Does it needs to be dead-nuts reliable or can you afford to have it break down once in a while?

when I did the figures with my dyno program, I implimented the new heads flow # in it and did put all info in for a 200 I6 running stock 9.2:1 comp, and came up with just under 200 hp, a little cam and headders and you would have 200 hp, you could achive that with a TBI even if you wanted. really, I see no reason to go EFI unless your going forced induction, carbs work great and are reliable under N/A conditions as long as there tuned. I'm only going EFI because of me going turbo.

Carbs work fine when boosted, too!

yeah, I know. I just wanted to make shure it is reliable, gonna be a street cruiser.
