'Mini' starter for a 200?

Does anybody know if there is a 'mini' starter available that will mount to a high-mount 200? I'd like to go with the smaller design if one is made for the engine.

looks like the FE series starters work
and they make mini-starters for them

I picked it up from these guys on ebay. It's listed for an FE (390-428) but it fit my 200 perfectly.

On this same theme, what year newer (better or smaller) starter will fit a 1968 200 block..................... I know someone out there was talking about a much smaller starter that fits?

Go to http://www.cvrproducts.com/main.html and click on the tech section. Either the 5055 or 5056 will fit your 200, but you'll need to pull your starter to measure the depth of the nose.

I have one for an FE on my hybrid. Much smaller and lighter.

White pony,
I believe you can use the mini starter for a 429. It has only a 2 bolt mount but it will work. Just make sure the starter nose in machined or relieved for proper converter bolt clearance. William

I saw this in the April Mustang and Fords Magazine

and was going to ask- what's the advantage/application? There's a tech article covering installation. They say that part PN9506 is a three bolt compatible with the small sixes. I assume it's smaller and more efficient. Would it be overkill on a mostly stock 200?

Biggest reason I want to do a 'mini' is to be able to remove the starter without unbolting the headers. I think that one of the local performance shops carry the Hi-Torque starters. I'll buy one from them and return it if it doesn't fit.
