Model 1940 1bbl carb.

I was under the impression that these were called Holley 1940 carbs., even though they
hat Motorcraft stamped on them. Am I wrong?

Howdy:

The Holley #1940 is a service replacement carb for Autolites. It came into existence when Autolite went out of business. They first appeared in 1970. Even though they were a Holley product they were marked "Autolite" from '70 & '72, and "Motorcraft" from '72 on.
