was going to order one, but was looking at a regular straight chrome one for my 65 mustang and it was like 25 bucks then they had another one that said it was curved just for the 6 cyl... but it was like 45 bucks....is the curve a necessity or it is just for looks thing???? just wondering.... would either one work or does one perform it's job better

Must admit that I've never seen or heard of one "curved" especially for the six. The only only one I've ever seen with the curve ends up right over the front oil cap and if I remember correctly, the stock breather still wouldn't work. Had to return it at my cost and get the straight one and build my own breather.

I have one curved for the 6cyl. I think it allows you to mount it closer to the shock towers. I duno... Here's my setup:

another alternative is to use a belly bar instead. Not any price saving though.

Are you talking about the front crossmember? Wouldn't his mustang have one already?

I keep hearing different stories about these. I'm starting to believe most cars don't have them, even if they came with them. I guess many were removed and never replaced. I'm not sure what the real stopry is.
If he does have it, the top bar is only going to make a difference in road race situations. No street reason to go there.

This is what you're talking about right? The crossmember under the engine. I'm pretty certain all the mustangs had one stock.

Old dogs do learn new tricks! Thanks for the pic. Don't think thats the curve I had as it dosen't come near as close to the oil cap as the one I had. I originally had the breather that had the long snorkle on it and was told the only way to work around it 7 years ago was to make one myself or find a different breather. The stright bar and building a new breather was the simpler way to go at the time.

btw:

the crossmember for under the oilpan come,s also in 5 M/M stainles steel .

special designd for adding a R/P onto it !

want any more pic ? ahah just ask it and i got it !!!

thanks for all the info...it do have the crossmember, but i was just wondering about the carlo bar because it adds a little more chrome under the hood for looks!!! the curved one would definitely be better for the 6.. and i also like what "the 66 mustang" setup is like.. haven't seen that before...
