a slight incline...support the weight of the engine while we roll it...are going to use an engine hoist to lift it up. Due to the slight incline we can't push it on the hoist the whole way...
even tho you've given alot of info I can't imagine the area, ur equip, etc.
Sounds like U have a hoist w/wheels. How far, how big a space (just the sz of the motor), is it a oak strip wood floor, cement, what's a slight incline in degrees/other description (i.e. like a handicap. ramp)?
I'd use rollers (pipes or wood - put the motor on a 'holder'. I use pallets that I've made a 2X4 stand for the motor on the pallet). Alternatively I've used the milk crate pallet (is angel iron square w/casters used @ stores for the m. crates) and "furniture dollies" . All these alternatives need the motor put on something so the pan is not ripped out. I like the rollers due to keeping the load low. U could reinforce the frnt of a plywood sheet w/a 2X4 or metal and put a whole thru it to attach some kind of winch to haul up the incline. 2X6 across a door frame @ other end? Just keep putting the rollers from the back to the frnt & U could get by with about 6?
