8) both are very good boxes. i have used both over the years and never had a problem. the only problem we ever had with a mallory ignition was the unilite system. the trigger wasnt very good in the early years, but they are much better now. the boxes and coils have always been good though.
Actually for some strange odd reason when I was building up my 5.0 and shopping for a new dizzy with a TFI module...I stumbled across quite a few who where very upset of the quality of the MSD TFI dizzy...people were saying that they were going through module after module, that they would only live a few thousand miles...so I purchased a Mallery TFI unit instead...I've yet to run it as it still sits in the box, but I have not read anything bad about the Mallery unit so far.
l'm running the bottom of the line MSD with a junk yard accuired stock DSII and couldn't be happier. running a 50 gap on the plugs and it purrs like a kitten at all rpms.
