where is your glasspack? After adding a turndown on mine it quieted it down a bit.

its at the very end where the stock muffler was and it has like a 3-4 in. tip..

i know the noise youre talkin about - get the same thing in my 300 with a cherrybomb. the guy at the parts store tells me its quieter with the glasspack than a flowmaster, so for what youre doing the turbo muffler sounds like probably the best bet. the only problem with such mufflers is that one backfire blows out the seam. my truck had one until i backfired one day and the whole seam split about 4" wide!

Walker Dynomax mufflers will give a quieter sound, but still have a low frequency rumble without being annoying. They are cheaper too. Don't get the bullets though. They are just large glass or steel packs and will be louder.

With the muffler at the end of the exhaust system, the exhaust will be more "raspy". The fart can makes this more pronounced...... You could move the muffler in front of the axle & put a full tailpipe on it & this will help to a point.
I'm gonna look into one of these:http://www.expressdistributing.com/cart/cgi-bin/Html/Products/bullet_proturbo.htm
Not cheap, but it should last forever....... 8)

anybody have any vids of their six with either a flowmaster or a turbo muffer?

Ok since I have had three different mufflers here is my opinion

Walker Turbo Nt a bad sound but seemed to plug and split went through three of them over the years.

Next tried a cherry bomb glass pack. What was I thinking

Broke down and had a flow master installed. Good sound and the car seems to breath better. So far I'm very happy with the flow master. Some have complained of a droning sound at certain rpm's. Mine seemed to do this for the first couple hundred miles then it seems to of gone away or I just don't notice it.

Here's a video of a Nissan 2.8L inline six with a turbo muffler. The sound should be similar. There are posts here that had clips of 200s with various mufflers, but some of the links are dead.

Found it.
This is 63droptop's I believe. He has a slight cam too.

Spences66six, true duals with glasspacks and turndowns just before the rear axle.

x21's stock inline six, 200 cid, one 1978 exhaust manifold, stock single pipe leading to a $20 cherry bomb with a turndown in front of the rear axle.

cfmustang's 200 cid with .030 overbore and head milled .060", Clifford dual outlet header through Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers, Clifford Weber 2bbl adapter with a Weber 38/38 DGES, Clifford 272 degree hydraulic cam, 1.75 Intake & 1.50 Exhaust SI values (undercut and a 3 angle valve job).

80Stang's 200 with a Dynomax Super Turbo and too many engine mods to list here. Go here to see them.

And lastly here is a video of Okefenokee Comet's 200 with dual out header and Borla XS mufflers.

Enjoy. I like those Dynomax the best I think...

thanks for those samples. yeah, the dynomax mufflers sound good. i noticed on the dynomax site that they have several different choices. i want a nice tone without too much volume for my convertible. is the "super turbo" the way to go?
