I have a 64 falcon 2dr. sedan with a 68 200CI. I have so many parts from multiple cars and engines while doing this project that things end up getting mixed in together. Currently, I have hit a problem. I am wondering if anyone out there knows which holes the factory coolant temp sensor and oil pressure sensor goes in. Both holes on the rear left side of the engine, one in the head and one in the block. Also, I have a total of 3 sensors from 2 different engines and if possible, I would like a little help identifying them. If someone can tell me how to post the pics up here that would be awesome. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

The oil pressure sending unit goes in the block all the way to the rear by the bellhousing.
The water temp sending unit goes in the head all the way to the rear, it almost looks like its on the back of the head when its installed.
The oil sending unit looks kinda like a small bell with a very small hole in the bottom.
The temp sending unit looks like a plug with a small threaded stud on one end and a post on the other.
Does the third sending unit have a small hole in it the size of the oil sending unit but has a 2 wire hookup instead of 1? If so it hooks in a T with your oil sending unit.

you can get an account at photobucket.com, upload them there and post them here.

goes like this

then it will display your pictures.

If I understood correctly, then the 1st and 3rd ones are oil pressure, and the 2nd one is temp. Correct?[/img]

yah looks right, kinda hard to tell about the middle one but it looks like a temp sending unit. Could you post a pic of the ends of it?

Here are the other angles of that sensor. The end that the wire hooks to is broken, so I'll need to get a new one anyone, but I figured that I would verify that it is the right one anyway.

Are there any differences between the sending units of different years?

Yeah, you have to match the sender to the year of the gauge. Fitment into the head isn't as important, unless you're trying to put an early 60s head on a later block. If the mounting hole is larger than your sender, there are brass adapters you can pick up at NAPA.
