Does anyone know where i could get a cheep reconditioned head for my 200 inline?? i know auto zone has them for 290$ i just dont have that money right now with school and everything and my local junk yard hasnt been any help

To be honest I think a recon. head for $290 is about as cheap as you'll find, unless someone has one just laying around that they'll let go cheap, and thats provided that it doesn't need any machine work.

i was able to find a good head for a decent price a while back, lemme look for the site

300$ for a ready to run rebuilt head isnt a bad deal.

even if you get a head for free, it will cost you about that to rebuild it.

Unless you do the work yourself. I bought my head for 40$ from pick n' pull, and did all the work myself to get it up and running. It's not perfect, however... but works for me.

I didn't have any major problems that needed addressing.

Whats wrong with your head?

WOW! $300! I paid parts and labor to rebuild mine, $400! You mean I could have went down the street and picked it up for $100 less? I wonder what's all included.

so i see that thats a good deal for 300

Whats wrong with your head?

nothings wrong with it at all i just want bigger openings and a biger carb hole for a two bbl.... i have the falcon per hand book and mine sucks to a later year head its like a hole 300 - 400 more (w-e the air comming in) then what i have in mine now...

I have a bunch of rebuildable heads and one that's already rebuilt. I'm in Irvine, CA, find out how far it is. =) We'll talk dollahs.

how much you asking for that rebuilt head, im up in the bay area. also what year is the head im looking for a 77 and up

It's a late model head, and I was hoping you weren't in the contra costa brentwood! I'm down in SoCal. I might be making a mob up there sometime in the next month or so so we'll talk.

check that head and let me know what size the carb hole is and ill let you know if im interested.

well came down to it i just got the new one anyways, all rebuilt and everything, i thank you all for the help.. total cost was around 360$ with a core charge of 75$

Good stuff. Have a thorough read of past threads here, on the nitty-gritty of installing. There's a few tricks you'll uncover to optimise your success rate.
