Howdy!
I have a 66 mustang with a 200ci inline six and I have decided on an exhaust system to get that I thought sounded good and was wondering of anyone elses opions? When its all said and done it will include a dual out header from classic inlines, 2.25inch dual pipes all the way back with x-pipe, goin through flow master 40 series and the ending out goin throught the rear valence. I currently have plans on orderin the rear valence of a 66 GT cause of holes bein pre-drilled for the exhaust.

I know somethin is goin to come up about back pressure and I would like to go an 1.75 inch exhaust but I can only order inlets an outlets on a flowmaster as little as 2.25in. Below is a video found on youtube.

This is NOT my exhaust or my car but it is what I hope mine will sound like in the near future.

Thanks for all comments.

Ive talked to this guy b4, and if you want it to sound similar to his you would go up to 2.5" piping, he also has an h-pipe rather than a x-pipe, here is a vid of a guy who has done 2.25" wth FM 40's, sounds good also, no indication of x/y pipe.

Bigger pipes u might lose a little torque on low end; but if thats not your concern then may as well make it sound good

But the setup your planning is very safe to say you'll have a nice low rumble, and not too obnoxious.

Thanks Lee!

For some reason I thought he ran a x-pipe. I did know he ran 2.5 pipe though and I was thinking of goin the 2.25 inch for back pressure reasons. But sometime in the future I was goin to upgrade the carb and put on some higher ratio rockers. So maybe that would help it out, since there would be more air flowin through the head???
