Alrighty,
first post on here. not too new to inline 6's. Got a 66 coupe with a 200, a 83 Jeep cherokee with the 258 and modifyed :shock: , and had another 66 coupe with the 200 a few yesrs back. :D

Been looking at the carb set ups on a few engines.
Question is, if you go with one of the many 2bbl or even a 1bbl from a 300 and put it on a 200, won't you get fuel wash of the piston rings? or would a Duraspark dizzy take care of this? (need to buy one from a parts store, already have the MSD 6A, need the coil and plug wires) more spark, more fuel burn, less wash?. Would a stock 2bbl from a 360/390 work for a stock 200?

Also on the exhaust side
1) need to know if there is any sequence to take off and put back on (like head bolt removal/tighten sequence) for the manifold on the 200, need to replace the gasket :(
2) I want to get a header for duel exhaust, I need info on where to get and what brand, and if those of you that have put on a header and have A/C, what does the bracket look like that you had to either modify or make to have the A/C comp. clear the header? :?:

Thanks for any and all info, from what I have seen on the fourm, this place is AWSOME!!!

ok for any performance parts i recommend checking out FSPP at www.fordsixparts.com and either the pacemaker or the FSPP header would be the best option an ive never read about anyone needing to modify their ac bracket to make one fit

and i think u should do the exhaust bolts in an alternating pattern like u would a cyl head

I was just looking at my Ford Shop Manual and it has the following bolt tightening sequence:

1-----4-5--6---8-------11 -->front of engine
--2-3---------7---9-10

18-24lbs. torque spec.

Not as long as the jetting is close and ignition is good. Most cars especially economy cars can handle many times the carb they come equipped with. Seen identical factory engines come with 1@2bbl --1@4bbl--2@4bbl and 3@2bbl. although 2@4's or 3@2's would generally have a few accompanying upgrades.
