I am new here and have a few questions. I have a 67 Mustang with a 200 and 3 speed manual tranny. My donor car is a Granada with a 200 and auto tranny. I am keeping my manual transmission. Will there be any problems swapping the motor from an auto tranny to a manual one? What concerns me is where the clutch assembly mounts to the block. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Howdy barry:

You will have a few points to look over closely;

You may need to use your '67 pan and oil pickup. Later Granadas use a different pan configuration.

YOu will need everthing from the flywheel back for the manual trans. There should be a boss on the new block for the Z-bar pivot ball.

Again depending on the year the Granada engine may have a longer water pump and pulley assembly. Check for fan to radiator clearance.

Adios, David

Barry, last but not least, don't forget to use a pilot bushing in the crankshaft for the manual trans. William

The fox-based Granadas (81-83) used a lot of "Big Bell" 200 engines when equipped with an auto tranny. If you have a big bell block, your manual transmission bellhousing will not bolt up. You may have to use a modified V8 bellhousing & flywheel or find another engine block. I suggest posting the casting number of your new engine block, and let's go from there.
