Okay, bottom end is done, top end is almost done. this summer I will do the headers $500. I plan on putting another grand into the coupe, maybe Mikes Dizzy and what else? Currently on the engine I have

264/274DH cam
Springs, new valves, teflon seals, pushrods, 1.5 adj. rocker arm, 500cfm holley 2v--direct mount, dbl roller timing chn.

I have a 4cyl. t5 just not installed.
I have front and rear disc brakes, rear is done and ready but I still need to do a little work on the rear undercarriage before i put the 9 in.

I'm thinking about new rear leaf springs and shocks---along with mikes dizzy. Do I need or want a rear sway bar, traction bars.....and do I want 4, 5 leaf springs reverse eye, mideye or regular??

Don't know what car you have, but it sounds like you've got performance in check, so I'd focus on handling. I'd recommend front and rear sway bars, maybe cut the front coils to lower it a bit, or if you want to spend the cash go for one of the coilover kits. Rack and Pinion steering can be had with a MII conversion or RRS' bolt in kit. Figure out the widest rubber you can mount on your wheels and not rub on the fenders.

And then of course, there's creature comforts: decent sound system, comfy seats, seat heaters, a/c, sound deadening, new carpet.

And don't forget some of the safety features: do you have 3 point seat belts? Install a headlight relay to brighten them up a bit, or maybe convert over to halogens.

Bottom line is, what do *you* want out of your car?

If it's a mustang, you can lower the front by re-drilling the holes for the upper spring mount. We did it on a friends 69 about 8 years ago and it worked great. I bet you could find a template on the internet somewhere. The one he got was from a club, nice aluminum template that was bolted in place using the stock holes. I wouldn't recommend cutting the springs.

65 mustang cpe, I haven't done any thing to the NPD 580 springs just yet, I am waiting to see what kind of steering problems I may run into with the 74 comet spindles. I think I will do the DUI upgrade once that is on the market, on the FSPP parts site it looks like Mike will be selling them soon. Actually, I have budgeted around 1500 or a little more for the summer months. With headers and final machining on the head that will leave around $500 or so. Probably will go ahead and get the rear springs and stuff----any suggestions on best ride without forfeiting that powerful launch?
