nitrous

I have a 250 that is at the machine shop right now getting ready for a rebuild. My question is what should I have done to the short block do I can run nitrous later? I am new to all the specs and ratios. What comp ratio should I run? How to deck the block? Any help please.

8) that depends on how much nitrous you are going to run. also recognize that a 75hp shot isnt going give you 75hp extra on your six, more like 50-60hp. it also depends on how often you are going to use the chemical supercharger. once in a while with a small to moderate shot, stock replacement cast pistons will do fine, other wise you want to step up to forged pistons. the bottom end of the ford six is tough enough otherwise to handle nitrous. as for compression ratio, some where about 9:1-9.5:1 will do well.

i have come up with m cals to get 9.5:1 so ill be fine there, what if i did a 100 shot is that to much with cast pistons? this is a street car so it would not be used all the time just every once and a while when i go to the track.

8) a 100 shot is the maximum you want to run on cast pistons. understand however that you wont get 100hp, more like 75-80hp.
