Post subject: SLANT 6 from OZ engine dynoed (Sun Jun 04, 2006 5:21 am)
Slant 6 Turbo / Injected / Intercooled hits the engine dyno.
HP = 627
Ft-Lbs = 735
That is so incredible! So much so, I want to see the Dyno sheet.
FSP, can you get us there? This new head will be the Holy Grail if it does.
I was gonna say put a big enough turbo and intercooler on any motor and you can crank out big numbers like that. hell in the 2.3L world a bigger turbo and intercooler with about 20psi will yield numbers in the 400-500 range most of the time (with upgraded internals of course) have more motor to play with and 600 hp wouldn't be much of a stretch.
I say with the new head someone will break 400hp within the first 2 years if not the first year.

Back when I had my RX-7, I went to a couple of dyno events, and saw many 400rwhp rotaries with stock internals (except possibly upgraded apex seals), which are a measly 1.3L. That's a motor that really likes boost. Pity it has no low end torque though...
i've been a reader in that forum for a while. Those slant six are awesome that engine cranked out those numbers with stock crank and rods and forged venolia pistons at only 5700 ish rpms the head is ported and a mild cam installed.
1) Go through the carb thoroughly and determine what each passage does, and how it meters fuel.
2) Plug everything you don't need.
3) There are no "aftermarket" high-flow needle and seat assemblies like 2 and 4 bbl Holley's can be made to use, I had to add a "crutch" in the form of a fuel solenoid from a nitrous kit to add extra fuel to the float bowl.
