Octane

What octane gas are yoy guys using the 67 owners manual states regular gas, at least 94 octane. Since present day premium here in Houston is 93 octane, I have beeen using premium.

I run 87 octance regular in a Tahoe, and a Hummer. What do you run?

Octane then and octane now are two different things. This is unleaded; that was leaded gas. I used 87 but I just couldn't get rid of the knock on hard acceleration. I use 89 now. Skip the hi-test. Start with the 'regular' and go to mid-grade if you can't get the knock out by tuning and adjusting the advance.

8) use the lowest octane rated fuel you can in your engine. higher than that is just a waste of money. i used 87 in my 64 and my 66 falcons, and 89 in my 80 fairmont(only because the converter was coming apart and 89 would stop the pinging).
