Oil gauge is jumping.

I have a 170 with new oil pump, new carb, new everything. I mounted a 60 lb oil gauge under hood together with the sending light, with a "T". At idle it bounces between 50 an 60 lbs steady. Whats up?

8) 60psi cold is normal, but when the engine is warmed up the pressure at idle should be closer to 20psi. as for the pressure fluctuation, that could be the line to the gauge was not properly bleed when it was installed, or your oil pump pressure relief spring is set at 60psi and when the pressure hits that mark it opens to bleed the pressure off until it closes again.
