what would cause oil to come out my exhaust pipe. the engine runs fine, but i crawled underneath the truck and saw some oil coming from my exhaust manifold. bad rings? the motor sat for awhile, but i have run it a couple of times before i dorve it around

Howdy:

There is a good chance that the oil is coming from somewhere above the exhaust manifold and seeping down to appear on the exhaust manifold. Check it out more closely.

Any oil in the exhaust would be burned residue. intact oil would indicate an extreme problem- one that would be easy to notice/hear/see.

Yah, like the back and sides of the valve cover. Pretty common leakage-prone areas.
