Oil pump gasket

Does there need to be a gasket between the bottom of the block and the base of the oil pump?

Hi, I believe Ford did not use a gasket on the pump to block surface. Most gasket sets come with one and I use it. Good luck

Thanks, my felpro set came with the pump to pickup tube gasket, but not pump to block.

Ford did not use one..I think that you are better off without one because the mounting ears do not get pried down because of the squishing of the gasket, a more stable mount..I worry about leakage so I use some gasket maker and bolt it down lightly then remove, removing any material by ports..One is needed at pickup.
