Oil pump, US 250 vs. Oz 250? Same?

Anyone!
Does someone know if the oil pumps are the same? At least the same mounting?
And does someone make a high volume version? I don't think anybody on the US makes one.
The reason for my questions is that we'd like to tap into the oiling system on a future motor for Kelly's Falcon and fabricate some "piston skirt squirters" to help cool the piston. So we'll need a higher volume of oil to accomplish this.
Thanks,
Will

Will, I think JP Performance offer a HV oil pump still, but I believe there are fitment issues to the US block. Not sure what they are.

That said, on 31st this month, the "dummy" US 250 block is scheduled to arrive at their factory, so perhaps in future they'll be able to batch stuff up.

Cheers, Adam.

Will,

I don't know if they'll fit or not but, the easiest way that I've found to increase oil flow is get a Ford V8 high volume oil pump and swap gerotors. I think the last one I got was for a 427. You have to press out the drives and press in your 250 drive. Then you have to make up a spacer equal to the extra length of the gerotor gears. I have done this numerous times and it always worked well. Just make sure you check your drive shaft length, sometimes it comes out a touch long. I use the aluminum body oil pumps -- getting scarce.

This may apply to the Aussie's, too. I like your idea of the oil cooling the pistons. I've always had problems with cylinders 5 and 2 running hot and I have noticed that on throws 2 and 5 there are no counter weights close to the pistons like on the other throws. I'm thinking that oil clinging to the counter weights is being sheared off by the piston skirts cooling them more.

I'm sure fuel distribution and exhaust pulse reversion probably don't help either.

Thanks guys!
Ya I had the idea to just swap the gerators from an high volume pump and do the machine work to get it to fit into the 250 pump body.
But I was hoping that there was an off the shelf solution.

Addo,
Make sure I'm the first in line for two of those roller US 250 timing chains!

Later,
Will

Maybe you should look at an external dry-sump type pump to either augment or replace the internal pump. That would give you as much volume as you need.

That "dummy" nearly made a dummy out of me, trying to get the pistons out. I tried scouring the bores, sanding, stacks of lube and all it came down to was a BIGGER hammer.

If anyone is interested I've got Addo's US 250 head here in Melbourne. Don't know how different they are to our aussie logs but it's here for the taking.
Sorry 'bout the hi-jack Will.
