Hello all,

I have a question concering the oil slinger on a 1967 200 cu. in engine. I am rebuilding and it has been some time since it came apart and I see on the diagram that there is an oil slinger. I can't find it in my parts tray and am wondering what the appropriate course of action might be. Did I possibly not have it to begin with? Do I need it at all? If I do, where might I locate one?

Thanks

The oil slinger was probably left off during a rebuild. There is much debate on whether it is necessary but I think ford had a reason for putting it there. Most likely you will not find it in a local parts store. I tried no luck. I found mine at a local junk yard. Paid 5 dollars for it. Engine shops might have one. If you can't find one let me know there is a falcon guy here in Tucson that should have another one. My recommendation is to put it back. It was design to keep oil off the front seal and help lubricate the timing chain.
