OK! It's done.....DYNO RESULTS!!!!! Aussie 2V

oh yeah, how about some new burnout videos with your new 3.55 gears.

DB

Dennis, I han't told anyone else about the 3:55 gears that I installed yet! Waiting for a nice day to shoot them!

Shaver Lake huh? So ur gonna pass through Fresno. If you want you could meet up with Vic and I, he lives in Fresno too and his car is pretty quick.

Roo, maybe one day we could all meet up too, maybe in Visalia or Tulare or something.

Just wondering if anyone has ever ran a similar test using the log head? The earlier heads>

AK Miller dyno a stock 67 Mustang 200 3 speed 320 gear at 65 HP at the rear wheels

I think this answers your questions? If you have a stock 200 in just about any year 62-80 your HP to the rear wheels is going to be 65hp - 75 hp, alot of guys want to believe that their stock 200 is producing more HP than this but the facts just don't bear it out! AND BEFORE YOU ALL POST OTHER WISE, GO GET YOUR STOCK ENGINE DYNO-ED! Yes, it is a real eye opener!

I am sorry what I meant to express it as any one compared similar setup's one using the log head and the other the 2v head with extra add on's like the engine you had done. The 2bbl carb, headers w/duel exhaust and a newer electronic's (pertnonix,etc.). Just wondering what the difference would be between a log and a 2v head. Is the spread wider as you add power adders such as cams, etc or is there very little difference.

There is a big difference reported by other owners using the Aussie 2V with a bigger cam, as was stated a stock log headed 200 was about 65 hp and a built up 200 still using a 1V carb was 105 hp. Most guys with a 2V built up engine claim to be getting much more horse power but like you I'd like to see the dyno numbers to support their claims, I know they make more HP but I don't think any from this forum have dyno-ed their engine yet! :? My son's Aussie 2V that's being built right now may be the first here to be dyno-ed? BTW he's 22 years old and a college student.

I will have mine dyno'd when it is done(it is at the machine shop now and should be completed by mid Jan)

these are the mod that i will be doing
200 block bored 030
0 deck height
Aussie 2v head ported and polished
holley 500 cfm carb
stock intake and larger exhaust valves
crow cams valve springs
yella terra full roller rockers
comp cams 260H camshaft
cliffy port divider
cliffy 6 into 2 header (jet coated)
duraspark II
msd6a and blaster 2 coil
mikenson gear drive timing
High energy oil pan

running though a rebuilt C4 with shift kit

the thing that will hurt me the most besides paying for all this is the stock rear end which i will have changed in the future to an 8" 5 bolt system.

does anybody make lightened flywheels for the 200? or should i just get the stock one lightened

cheers
John

John, the flexplate on a C4 weighs bugger-all, anyway. Not worth worrying about. If you went to a manual tranny, a lightened f/wheel might be an option.

Hey Mr. 'Roo

Can I swing by after you install little Roo's engine in the 'stang? I would like to see his setup. I may try to talk Mr. ragtop into riding along with me. How about it Ragtopman?

Is your son using a Holley 500 or the Holley 350 for his engine?

FYI, if you're interested some dude is selling a 250-2V intake that's been converted to 4bbl.

Cheers,
DB

Dennis,

Give me a call next week, at work, sounds like Ben is talking early to mid January. I owe him a beer for getting cross ways with him on the Drive train, Suspension & Breaks Forum. But seriously, it would be nice to see, and it sounds like we have allot of current and future 250 2V runners in the central valley. I'd say lets have a ride in, but my ride won’t be ready until, I'd say end of the first quarter.

Cool sounds good to me. The Comet has the tranny, rear end, front disc breaks and front suspension finished but still has the OG log head so don't expect me to race.

DB

Come on UP/Down and visit! Jason should be finished by the first of January as the Mustang is his daily driver and he is rebuilding it over the Xmas vacation from college, now the bad news is he's going to be driving my little baby!

Dennis,
but still has the OG log head so don't expect me to race.
What happened to all the Austrialn beef you had inported, did it all get eaten up?

SOLD!

The machine shop I go to spread the word and boom gone. My wife's happier, she can walk into the garage and she doesn't have to see all these "car things" all over the place.
