Can I still use my orignal gas pedal for a cable conversion?
Can anyone give me instrustions on how to install a throttle cable? Like how to install a newer model pedal on a 64 1/2 Mustang?
What junkyard parts will fit and where can you get them? Junkyards are on the thin side around here.
Thanks Joe
P.S. I am thinking of using a 350 cfm Holley with a Clifford adapter.
Which pedal and cable will work? (LOKAR)

Hi Joe,

For my '68 I found a '78 ish Fairmont in the junkyard and took the throttle cable and pedal. I removed my old pedal and linkage, peeled the carpet back, positioned the pedal in an ergonomic position, centerpunched and drilled the 2 mounting holes, bolted the pedal to the firewall, drilled a new hole for the cable to pass through, screwed the cable to the firewall from the engine bay, and then I had to stack about 3/4" of washers (along with using longer bolts) between the pedal and the firewall to get adequate pedal travel. Pretty simple - about 30 min install.

Thanks John, Thats about all I thought they was to it just wantednto be sure. Thanks again Joe
