So, I was originally planning on going tempo EFI first and then turbo, but -

I've been given a perfectly good garret CT26 off a supra.

So, thats going to reorganize the timeframe a little. I can get the turbo on the car for pretty much free at this point considerig I can weld my own header etc.

Now, I know that this won't be the perfect match for the car, but It should deliver about 7psi right off idle and make it a lot more fun to drive.

Thoughts? This would be intercooled blow through on my 1100.

do both. if you have the stuff to go EFI I wouldn't bother setting up for carb. do it once and be done with it. why fab it all up on a carb and get it tuned only to do it all over agian?

Gotta go with Turbo Fairlane 200.

No sense in spending all that time testing and tuning and troubleshooting the carb only to turn around and pull it all off and do it again for the EFI.

Well, I don't have all the stuff to do EFI on hand -

and I figured it would cost me about a grand and i promised I wouldnt spend any money on the car this year - lol.

But the turbo is free and for a little bit of exhaust tubing I can make a header - tuning it with the carb isnt that big of a deal to me, the car gets driven like 5 miles a week, and thats only when it is all in one peice.

I just don't know if I would try to tune a 1100 on a blow thru setup....granted I had thought of it before (the inlet is 2" and so is my curent turbo)

well if you don't have the EFI bits on hand yet.....

well start working on getting the turbo fab work done as far as oil lines and exhaust (down pipe too)

I might have it figured out soon if a 3.8L CFI setup will work as is on a 200 (not boosted though) and I have the EFI motor in the works also (port injection) I would get the turbo setup ready to bolt on (not gonna cost too much anyways other than time) and run as is for now and spend the $$$ on EFI bits. I only gave $40 for my CFI setup (harness and ecu and throttle body) once I get my car moved I am gonna get it wired up and give it a shot. If it works then the next step is my port injection head and a 3.8L ECU/Harness from a multiport car.

I've done the EFI thing before, and im not really anticipatinng that being all that hard. It just the cost of megasuirt + fuel pump & tank + all the little stuff will round out around 1k.

The Turbo thing is new to me, but I feel like I am pretty handy with a tig torch and I've got the most expensive part of the project for free. I can weld up a header no problem and get to tuning. I know the 1100 might not be the best choice, but I have a few other carbs here I could try too.

And taking time to tune it doesnt really bother me because, as I said, it sits at work all of the time. I work on it at lunch and after hours if I feel like it - if it starts to piss me off I just let it chill for a few days.

Im just a little skeptical about the performance of the CT26 on the 200. It's off a 3L surpa and devlops about 7psi stock. I don't really care about making huge power... but I do want good off idle throttle response.

it should be fine I would think. trust me once you boost a motor lag is realy just what you would be making powerwise without a turbo. once it spools you will just be saying "NA what?"

I talked about the reasons why some carbs are better than others in the FAQ.....can you get a nitrophyl float for an 1100? Or only brass?

Some folks that are crafty actually graft nitrophyl floats onto the arms of a brass float to get around that. Might be be easier if you have access to a TIG welder.

I'm not sure, Ill have to check -

I could probably pull that off, but at that point I doubt it would be worth it. I have an autolite 2bbl and a holley 194X here that I could use as well.
