? PCV and exhaust valve seals

Howdy All,

On the PCV side of things, is it best to run a breather on the back of the valve cover and keep the pcv valve to the carb or run two individual breathers? What would be the best set-up in y'alls opinion.
Also, I heard that it is a good idea to leave the seals off of the exhaust valve, especially if you have bronze valve guides, on a turbo set up. What do you think about this? Appreciate it fellers.

Keep your Positive Crankcase Ventilation system in good working order, if you can. It works better than ordinary breathers ever will (it's positive), with the added benefit of incinerating the mess it collects.

Dunno about the seals. I'd like to know the reasoning behind leaving them off. Doesn't seem right to me.

Test the PCV with compressed air to see if it is in good working order as a check valve - - - they are NOT all created equal.

I think the deal with the exhaust valve guides is too make sure there is enough oil because they will run hotter under boost than they normally will. Ask a few engine builders what they think.

I know that some motors came without oil seals on the valves - Renault built a few models like this. All had alloy heads and bronze guides. Never quite understood why they did it, but smoking isn't any more common in the motors, than on other brands.

Regards, Adam.
