Any Pertronix guys out there that have the 1261? The ones for the ford dizzy up to 74. I need a picture of yours. I think mine was boxed wrong, but want to make sure.

is that the ignightor II or the I? I have the 2 in mine and would be more than happy to email you a pic if you still need it.

Highschool65, I have the 1261 (Pertronix l) model installed on my 66' - 200cid engine with an orginal Ford Load-A-Matic distributor, and it works fine! I did have to file a little bit off of the Perronix base plate to set the proper air-gap, but I have read where a few other people had to do the same thing! A printed sheet that I have from Pertronix's website does list Model # 1261 (Model #91261 is the Ignitor ll part #) for all 1949 to 1974 6's (excluding the V-6's) that have the "Motorcraft" distributors. Model # 1266 (or #91266 for the Ignitor ll) is suppose to be for 1963 to 1967 Ford sixes (except the V-6's) that have the "Holley" distributors!
Hope this helps, Jim

Thanks for the replies. Yes, that's what I read as well. The 1261 is for the Ford dizzy. Unfortunatley the guy at Pertronix thinks I'm a nut job (beside the point) and I have a Holley. I told him to look at NAPA website and gave him two part numbers. He said I have the one I told him I have. I was under the impression that there was to be NO modifications needed. Oh well.

HA HA so far so good on gettin the old girl running again. Few hick-ups along the way but its to be expected. Hopefully inspection goes as well.
