Pertronix compared to Duraspark

Yeah, I know. My next big project will be a disc brake/power brake/dual master cylinder conversion. NPD sells a 4 lug, dual res, power brake conversion kit for $1000 that has everything needed except the rear lines. I'm also thinkin' about power steering. The Veteran's Administration will pay for the steering, and I'm waiting for the approval as we speak. The car stops and steers OK as is, but those drum brakes do fade, and after 28,000 miles the front linings are getting pretty thin. I think I'll paint the next "pot" with somma' that new cast iron colored paint the custom rod guys use to keep it from rusting. They even have brake line colored paint to do the lines with!

Check with me on the power steering and brakes when ready. I'm still on hold for a rear pump mount. :( I used the SSBC kit with Mustang Steve's booster and pedal assemblies. They're good quality, and fit well.

One thing to consider on the brakes is a switch to DOT 5 Silicone Fluid. It doesn't contribute to rust, has a boiling point of 500*, and doens't take off the paint. :D it's expensive, but cheaper than master & wheel cylinders.
