Plastigage? Main and connecting rod clearance/tolerance?

I am getting ready to assemble my 1958 Ford 223 engine. Went down to buy plastigage and found out that there are four colors.
Also I checked my manual and the only spec I found for bearing clearance was .002" in a picture which shows where to place the plastigage.

Can you tell me what tolerance I need for my main bearing sand my connecting rod bearings on a 58 223?

If I rememeber right it comes in different tolerance ranges so you will want one that goes from somthing like .0015 to .0035?? ? if they have one like that.

I used to get the range of .001 to .003 think they were a green and .002 to .004 were red those too would do the job most of the time. Think the 1 to 3 ought to be close enough for yours.

Thanks. I found out that the goal is .002" and that the green is what is needed. Thanks for the help!
