Im replacing my spark plugs and thermostat. What are the best plugs I can get and what is the best Thermostat, Ive heard of a "high performance" thermostat, is there one for the 66 200?

Spend the money for a good stat, not a store brand POS. Get a full-flow stat not one that throttles even when wide open. Robertshaw are primo.

Any good parts store should have them or be able to get them. They all push their made-in-china store brand at 1/2 the price, but it's not a good savings.

I use NGK plugs and a Mr. Gasket stat. My local parts house's do not carry the Robertshaw stat. You can get the Mr. Gasket from Summit if you have to.

got Bosch platinums today, seemed like they were already gapped, are they or am I stupid and dont know how to do it, they almost seemed like they were gapped at .40 or .45 or somethin

Gapping spark plugs is easy and you should always verify the plugs even if they are pre-gapped.

Just go buy a gapping tool (about $1) from your local Auto parts store. It is a little circular disc with flattened edges and measurements just inside those edges. They are usually by the front desk, but you can just claim that you can't find them and let them show you and then claim that you must have been blind and walked right by them.

You use it by putting the flattened edge in between the gap and sliding the disc around until you feel resistance. What ever measurement you are at is your gap. If you want to widen it, just keep sliding the plug on the disc until you get to the gap you want.
