Pony Carbs Autolite 1100 1v annular discharge?

Installed a Vaporizer from PC last month, and it completely changed the nature of the engine. It's a joy to drive now.

Well it's been a long time to get back
2 months? I must B gettin pretty old, that's nutin 2 me.

Thanks for the comparison info from Frisco. I'd like to see them between a 1100 and vaporizer or the less expensive pony. Got some kinda YF (sig) came w/the 250.

Hey MrMootsie, Sounds like you're pretty happy with your Vaporizer...any idea what kind of mileage you're getting with it? Is your set-up fairly stock or have any major mods? If it's too early to tell, would you mind posting your mpg's back here in the future after you've got some more miles under your belt? Thanks and congrats on the new carb...btw nice rag-top

hey guy'sjust posting some numbers from a great trip of mine.

Setup
65 mustang
78 large log head with performance valve job, CFM = 144 @ .6 lift
pony 1100v carb
DUI
header true dual
264-274 110* cam
stock rockers
89 t5 4cyl tranny
3.27 rear gears

I pulled my tools gear and some food around so this is a loaded car for the following road trips.
This was right after my electric fan upgrade ver 1.0

I went from Chandler AZ to Salt Lake City a while back.
Trip went as follows (Edit: with 65 jet)
Chandler - Kingman - 24.33
Kingman - St George - 21.67
St George - Provo - 22.24
SLC weekend - 18.33
Ogden - Panguitch - 23.88
Panguitch - Flagstaff - 24.94
Flagstaff - Chandler - 28.99 (from 6k feet to 2k feet)

Trip AVG - 23.48 mpg
City AVG - 18.33 mpg
Road AVG - 24.34 mpg

Most of the road trip I didn't need my AC, except from kingman-st george, it just got warm in vegas.

After this trip I got 10 consecutive City reads AVG around 19.36 mpg avg and one 24.99 mpg freeway driving

the following with electric fan upgrade 2.0
my next trip to SLC

Chandler - Kingman - 23.53
Kingman - St George - 24.11
St George - Provo - 23.5
SLC for 2 days - 19.7
Provo - Panguitch - 20.27
Panguitch - Cameron - 26.48 (in panguitch changed 70 jet to 65 jet)
Cameron - Grand Canyon Week - Flagstaff - 18.85
Flagstaff - Chandler - 25.14

Trip AVG - 22.7 mpg
Road AVG - 23.84 mpg
City AVG - 19.27 mpg

this trip consisted of running with the AC part (Edit: most) of the way as it got alot warmer than last time.

I have roughly 3.5 years worth of mpg data on my car, nothing is consistant except my fill up, I run till the pump kicks off, and pump slowly till it kicks off again usually .5 gal more, and pump slowly one last time till it kicks off again usually right away. this pattern I always try to follow, granted pumps might be 'off' but these numbers are as accurate as I can get them.

Hope u guy's enjoy and congrats on the new carb!

Richard

Richard, thanks for sharing  Those are good numbers, and pretty close to what I was averaging before I sent the Vaporizer into pony for the upgrades which took em a bit longer than expected, but like you was not charged for work on this 3yr old beta version...props to pony for standing behind it  Sounds like your elec fan conversion is paying you back for any parasitic loss from a/c....very cool. I'm gonna get to that clutch fan conversion done eventually.

I like the mileage on the flagstaff to chandler leg of the first trip :D ..I use neutral as much as possible to offset some of my lead foot.
Cheers!

Thanks! I think it's actually done now. I've been averaging 22-23 MPG in and around town. Here are some pictures. I just got the head out of the machine shop. 3 angle valve work, seals, lashes...etc. Classic Inlines valve cover and some chrome. Other than the Pertronix, I haven't done much to it. Runs like a top. I did put the GT exhaust in...cause I like it!
